What documents are required for account opening

For Singapore citizen, Singapore permanent resident and Singapore passholders, you may wish to submit via Singpass > Myinfo. For application submitted via Singpass, as long your information with Myinfo is up-to-date, no additional documents required. 

 

To open a uSMART account, you will need to provide the following:

- Identity document or Passport

- Address proof

- Tax residency and tax identification number (if any)

 

ID Card accepted for account opening: Singapore, China, Malaysia, India, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia.

Passport: all other nationalities

 

Documents to use as address proof

Validity of the documents must not be more than 3 months from the date of certification on the documents.

1. Bank statements (bank account statements or credit card statements) (or)

2. Policy Statements, official receipts or correspondence from insurance companies (or)

3. Statement of investment holdings, contract notes/ invoices for investment transactions, corporate announcement notices (e,g. rights issues, subscriptions, dividend payments etc) from securities companies (or)

4. Utilities bills, tele-communications bills or billing statements (or)

5. Any statements, letters or correspondences issued by the Government that bears the customer’s name and address (for e.g. CPF statements, letters from IRAS, Town Council correspondences etc)

Where client provide e-statements issued by Bank or Government entities or Utility company, certify true copy is not required.

All supporting documents must clearly indicate clients’ full name and full address in English.
